So, I’m back…for the moment. As I’ve mentioned previously, I’m struggling a lot with time commitments at the moment and haven’t been able to put the effort into my site. Although this is really disappointing, this is my final year of University and that has to come first. Come June, I’ll be back better than ever.
Before I get into the haul, I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and a happy new year, even though these were both what seems like agessss ago now!
I am in disbelief that we are in 2017, and have been for the last month plus! Last year went so incredibly fast, which is quite sad. 2016, for many, was a heart-breaking year. With all of the celebrity deaths and tragic terrorist attacks, I’m sure many people are excited to leave 2016 behind. For me, not so much.
Despite all of the negative elements of 2016, I find last year was a great year for me, perhaps one of the best. When I look back, I realise how much I have done and just how lucky I am. I am really hopeful that 2017 is just as good, if not better.
Ok, on with the gooood stuff. So, I recently put in an order on Colourpop, which was literally so exciting. I have ordered once previously, and it was fantastic (you can read all about it here, and see the previous haul here!) To mention a bit of background, I have always ALWAYS wanted to try Colourpop Cosmetics, they were always at the top of my list. Until July (2016) however, I couldn’t order any products due to the international shipping not being available. After my birthday, I jumped at the chance to order some goodies, and was so impressed I proceeded to put another (rather large) order in just after Christmas. This post is all about sharing what I bought with you guys!
However, before I get started… usual disclaimer: Although I do a lot of hauls, I am not trying to show off or brag about what I have. Hauls are my favourite thing to read about/watch on YouTube as I love to see the excitement others have when they receive new makeup products. Although I have more than enough makeup, the joy I get from receiving, buying, swatching and trying out new products builds my passion for makeup even more. I am very lucky to be able to own the makeup I do, and I enjoy it every day.
This time, I only bought lip products. I was so impressed with them last time that I just couldn’t help myself! Needs must and all that…
I decided to buy two bundles of liquid lipsticks.
These bundles were $15 each, which in my opinion was good value for money; I wanted all of these shades anyway and buying them in a bundle not only saved me $3, but I also got really cute packaging!
The first bundle I bought was ‘Up and Away’. To be honest, this bundle was one of the main reasons I put the order in in the first place. The shades are just to die for, and I had my eye on them for such a long time!
- Lovebug: A deepened, burnt orange with more shifts of red and burgundy.
- Mama: A true burnt orange.
- Calypso: A deeper nude pink with hints of brown.
The other bundle I purchased was called ‘Just Peachy’. As you all probably know, peach is a LIT makeup trend right now. Peach eyes, peach lips, peach cheeks, peach everrrythang is at the top of the makeup game right now. I wanted to join in.
- Instigator: A peachy shade with orange and coral undertones (perfect for summer!)
- Screenshot: A slightly darker peachy nude.
- Speed Dial: A terracotta peachy nude.
I LOVE the Colourpop Ultra Matte Lips, there is no denying. The shade range is absolutely phenomenal, and they are the most comfortable matte liquid lipsticks I have ever worn. I was so impressed last time that I decided to order 4 more! Update: I do find them slightly less comfortable now it’s flipping snowing outside, but that is to be expected. They are transfer-proof and long-wearing, in particular the darker shades.
- Knotty: A really light peachy nude with hints of orange, similar to Instigator but lighter. This is in the holiday packaging which is the main and only reason why I bought it. No shame.
- Midi: The perfect nude.
- Bianca: A slightly cool tone nude with hints of pink.
- Clueless: A perfect dusty rose.
Hands down my favourite Colourpop formula. They dry down to a demi-matte finish, but the slightly tacky texture does not bother me in the slightest. Although they are not fully-matte, I find them to be still as long-wearing as the ultra-mattes. These are so comfortable; they give a great pigment payoff but they do not make your lips feel horrible and crusty. The only issue I have with these are DAMN COLOURPOP give us some more shades! They don’t have as an extensive shade range as the ultra-mattes, but hopefully this changes soon as they are gorgeous!
- Magic Wand: A beautiful mid-toned nude with shifts of rose. Perfect.
- Femme: A muted dirty lilac. I LIVE for this shade.
I am also a huge fan of this formula of lip product. One of the most recently launched, the ultra-glossy lip comes in a range of different shades and finishes. I never ever used to wear lip-gloss, it was never something that appealed to me. When I saw one of my favourite YouTubers, thatgirlshaexo (check her channel out here), swatch the collection, I was intrigued. I absolutely love ‘Weho’ a pigmented nude gloss I bought last time, and I knew I wanted to order some more glosses this time around. I don’t regret it.
- Master Plan: A deep purple gloss (crème finish).
- A Boo: A light, baby pink gloss (sheer finish).
- Tight Fit: A metallic nude gloss, with shifts of gold and pink glitter (metallic finish).
Finally, I bought some more of the ultra-metallic lips. These are just my guilty pleasure. Admittedly, when the metallic lip trend first emerged, I could not get the hype. But, I became more and more interested and ordered the shade ‘maneater’ on my last Colourpop order; it is almost gone now I use it that much. This formula is absolutely incredible, the pigment payoff is insane and it literally looks like you have foil on your lips. The range of colours Colourpop also offers is great, and I had to buy a few more to add to my collection…
- Dm: A rich, brown copper shade.
- Zebra: A metallic rose bronze.
- Salt: A cool metallic taupe with shifts of brown.
- PYT: A really unusual shade, a dirty gold metallic.
- Lights Out: A metallic light gold.
Oh, before I forget, I bought a lippie pencil in BFF as well… The lippie pencils are just amazing hehe.
That’s the end of my haul! I hope you enjoyed reading 🙂
