My Top 5 Summer Lipsticks

Hey everyone 🙂

I can’t even get over how nice the weather has been recently – it’s really not like England to have more than one sunny, warm day in a year!

As many know, it is now ‘officially’ Summer, and Summer is 100% my favourite season of the year. Everything just seems a lot more doable; you can be outside more, the lighter nights are easier and you don’t have to put a 1000 layers on just to walk up to the shop to grab some milk.

Although I don’t specifically ‘tailor’ my makeup around the seasons, there are some looks I simply just love to do around this time, and some lip colours I am dying to use with the warm weather.

Out of my collection, I have 5 I am going to talk about that are my favourites to use during the summer months.

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in ‘Morocco’:

Not sure why it looks pink on this photo – I promise it is orange!

Every girl needs an orange lipstick in their life. I have been on the hunt to find the perfect orange lipstick for quite some time now, and I have eventually found it. I am OBSESSED with orange lips right now, I think they flatter practically every kind of skin-tone and look great on just about anyone.

As previously mentioned, I am a huge fan of the NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams. I think their colour range is absolutely fantastic, and the formula is so comfortable to wear. When I saw they sold this beautiful orange colour, I couldn’t resist getting my hands on it.

This bright berry colour is perfect for the summer months as it is so vibrant and pretty with any outfit. Usually berry tones are associated with fall/autumn, but I’m not all about the ‘rules’.

This colour is mostly a purple, but also has beautiful tones of warm, bright pink hidden within the formula, which can present a duochrome type of finish on your lips. I love it!

MAC Retro Matte Liquid Lipstick in ‘To Matte With Love’:

As I have talked about previously, I DO NOT like bright pink lipsticks, especially with blue undertones. I do not really suit these colours at all, and they generally just do not appeal to me. This lipstick is definitely the exception to that.

Although this colour does not have cool/blue undertones, this colour is an ‘in your face, bright’ hot pink with a hint of neon qualities. I would have never usually liked this shade, but it really flatters my skintone for a reason I am never going to understand.

I love bright lips in the summer, and by wearing this colour I definitely achieve this. It’s such a beautiful and unique colour for summer, I would urge any girl to get their hands on it!

MAC lipstick in ‘Fanfare’ (Creamsheen Finish):

This lipstick is most likely my favourite out of this list. I originally bought it because I thought it was different to anything I owned and the swatch looked gorgeous. I am so glad I ended up purchasing it – because now it is my go-to.

It is a beautiful shiny rose pink colour with coral undertones and it looks so beautiful on the lips. With its creamsheen finish, it is so hydrating on the lips and it looks really healthy. I wouldn’t have usually classed a creamsheen formula as being particularly glossy-looking, but I find this one is. I normally prefer matte lips, but the glossiness of this formula really suits the colour.

MAC lipstick in ‘Mehr’ (Matte Finish):

I don’t actually have that much to say about this one, except from that it is your typical pretty matte rose-pink. I honestly feel every girl needs this colour in their life, it suits all skin tones and is perfect for a pretty, yet subtle summer lip colour.

Thanks for reading 🙂
