Holiday Planning

Hi everyone! 🙂

It’s been a busy few weeks, with assignment deadlines looming and just generally not having as much time at home in front of the laptop.

Last week, I had my first two Journalism deadlines due and it was pretty hard to get back into doing some work. In the next two weeks, I have three more deadlines due, both for English and for Journalism. Am I looking forward to it? Nope.

Anyway, I hope that explains the lack of posting. I need to learn how to use my time better so I can still write as often as I used to.

Today’s post is NOT going to be to do with beauty… Although that’s the field I like writing about most, I don’t want my blog to be all about the same thing, and versatile instead.

I wanted to write about my upcoming holiday to the Lake District with my boyfriend, Tom. We decided not to go abroad this year; but we still felt we needed a holiday together.

We booked to stay in a lodge, just off Lake Windermere. The pictures of the lodge are amazing, and it’s growing my excitement even more! It even has an outdoor hot tub – something I’ve always been dying to try!

Here are some pictures:

I’m trying to think of what to take with me – without being ridiculously over-packed (which is something I always do). Alongside the 50 ASDA shopping bags we’re going to have crammed in Tom’s VW Golf, we’ll need to make room for: two suitcases, our array of shoes, warm clothing and waterproofs.

I’m going to have to resist taking my entire makeup collection so I have ‘choice’ but I know I will probably take my:

  • Morphe (35T & 35B) palettes
  • Naked 1 & Naked Smoky palettes from UD
  • Maybe one of the BH Cosmetic palettes (I need variety…)
  • Nars & L’Oreal Foundations
  • Rimmel brow pencil & ABH dip-brow pomade
  • Maybelline primer
  • MAC Soft Ochre paint pot
  • MAC powder
  • ABH contour kit & Benefit Hoola bronzer
  • Maybelline gel eyeliner
  • L’Oreal & Too Faced mascaras
  • UD & Maybelline concealers
  • I’m not even going to list the lipsticks because I’ll probs take most, if not all of my MAC collection – no shame

I haven’t decided what clothes I’m going to take yet, but because it’s in the middle of the countryside and it’s going to be early November, it’s going to have to be warm stuff. A gutting fact for a gal that loves summer clothes.

We’re trying to make a list of activities we’d like to do when we’re there for our five-day trip. There is various beautiful walks, a mining museum, Bonfire night fireworks and…

Can you sense my excitement?

Llamas/alpacas join my list of:

  1. Beavers
  2. Camels
  3. Emus/ostriches
  4. Owls

as some of the funniest animals ever. Why I find them so funny, I have no idea. They just are. Okay.

Anyways, I’m very much so looking forward to going and visiting them fluffy giraffe-wannabees.

If anyone has any suggestions of other activities we could do, I would appreciate it?

This trip to be honest is going to be mainly focused around relaxation. Stressful times have a huge impact on your overall headspace, and to just be able to lounge in a cosy cabin will be heaven for Tom and I. I’m really looking forward to the holiday and it’s going to get me through these next 3 stressful assignments. Don’t you just love education?

I hope you enjoyed this post 🙂
